The truth is spoken

It has frequently and correctly been pointed out that when dealing with duplicitous people you should heed not what they say but what they do. There is another side to this argument at times, however, sometimes referred to as “saying the quiet part out loud”, when they inadvertently let slip the truth of their plans or attitudes, in most cases revealing or confirming what we likely already knew to be true. It is tempting to find glee in this, but I’m not sure that makes sense in the face of such outlandish and blatant dishonesty. We know they’re lying, what difference does it make if they let the truth slip? Besides, as they grow to care less about any accountability or potential blowback, they are bothering less to obscure their true motives. In light of this it seems to me that we can actually learn quite a bit about the truth of what is happening by hearing, and parsing, things being said. We spend a lot of time catching them in lies, maybe we should switch teasing out the truth in what they’re saying.

A caveat here: I am sick – literally – of hearing about and seeing the tragedy of the killing of Renee Good, as I’m sure you are as well, but it remains important to keep our attention on this horror and its implications. So here I go again. Bring on the quotes.

“Normally I would, but they’re crooked.” – Trump, when asked whether state and local agencies should be included in the investigation of Good’s killing.

Wow, project much? This is some serious pot and kettle shit. If they believed that their interpretation – twisting – of the killing was true and defensible, they would insist on a thorough and transparent investigation. So the truth is found in their making it as narrow and obscured as possible, and don’t kid yourself friends, there is no way in the nine circles of hell that that cold-blooded bastard is gonna be charged.

“The reality is that his life was in danger and he fired in self-defense.” – JD Vance

While this is obviously entirely untrue, the truth being illuminated is just how far this dirtbag – being condemned by no less than the catholic church for this indefensible stance – is willing to go to forward a twisted agenda and the nefarious aims of the Orange Menace holding his leash.

“When a federal officer gives you instructions, you abide by them and then you get to keep your life.” – Rep. Wesley Hunt, R-Tex

Translation: your life is ours to do with what we will and your continued existence is subject to our whim. It also manages to sneak in a healthy dose of victim blaming. It is your fault if I kill you. That such a cavalier attitude towards life and death, and the casual support of authoritarian brutality, comes from an elected member of Congress defies belief.

“That guy is protected by absolute immunity. He was doing his job.” – JD Vance

Back to our vice president for more wisdom. This asshat is a freaking Yale educated lawyer who clearly knows the difference between limited immunity and the non-existent total immunity to which he refers. But we hear the truth in their stance in his blithe assertion of a blanket freedom to act in any way they see fit, up to and including murder.

We executed one of you today.” – Unnamed counterprotestor in Minneapolis

So much is revealed here. Execution is not just justifiable, but extolled and put forward as a warning. This random shitstick with a megaphone is not only proud of this heinous act but taking ownership of it. That ‘we” is chilling. He and his ilk thrive on violence, even get off on it. And if that doesn’t shake your soul I don’t know what will.

“I don’t care.” – unnamed agent while preventing a doctor from checking on Good following the shooting.

So small a phrase, but so all encompassing of their attitude. The inhumanity of not a single solitary attempt to provide aid to a woman who was just shot is shocking enough. But preventing someone who does have compassion in their heart from doing it is next level cruelty. But that is the proverbial nutshell. This entire shitshow is predicated on the premise that they are making America’s streets safer. That is working so well that Minneapolis schools are closing out of safety concerns. They. Do. Not. Care.

“Fuckin’ bitch.” – Jonathan Ross

One of the most chilling aspects of all the video we have seen has to be the casual calm displayed by this psycho in the immediate aftermath of his horrific actions. Here we have one human being (using the term loosely in this case) pointing a deadly weapon at the face of another human, at point black range, and calmly pulling the trigger. Three times. The mind already reels. But then we try to reconcile that act with his ensuing demeanor. He casually curses and demeans her, calmly holsters his weapon and strolls – there is no other way to describe it – after his victim. After a cursory glance at his hellish handiwork, he turns and continues his nonchalant ambling back to his cohorts. (None of whom, it should be noted, seemed even the slightest put out by what just happened and made no attempt to render aid.

The callousness and contempt for human life is staggering.) The type of animal this guy is, his utter lack of humanity and his contempt for anyone not of his tribe is succinctly summed up in those two words.

“That’s fine, dude, I’m not mad at you.” – Renee Good

Spoken by the accused “paid agitator” and “domestic terrorist” to her murderer twenty-five seconds before he kills her. The truth found here is in the actual delineation between good and evil that is being established in our society right now. If that seems hyperbolic, I want you to take a hard look and listen to those last two quotes. Is there any question that Jonathan Ross is Evil or Renee Good – in a remarkable irony – Good? Not in my mind.

Yes, we must continue to take note of what they do in contradiction of what they say, and we must be vigilant in exposing and challenging their lies. But we must also hear what they say because they are telling us what they want, what they believe and who they are. And it ain’t good. Thanks for reading.
